A small to mid sized Yamaha upright in a mahogany finish.
The piano has a rich and vibrant sound. It was at first very harsh and needed toning. This is typical of pianos with a few decades of life.
Current status: manufactured in Japan, some models in Indonesia and China
We enjoy voicing these pianos as they have a rich underlying tone, and once voiced sound mellow and warm.
Some later versions of this model appear to have been made in the US. Yamaha seems to have experimented with exporting production to several countries around the world to meet global demand, and supply certain countries, especially the US, and the UK with locally produced pianos. Now doing so in China, Indonesia and elsewhere. Quality can vary.
The piano had multiple cracked
