Kawai 701-F console piano with turned legs. This elegant upright or ‘console’ has a rich tone, it was made in Japan during an excellent period of manufacture for the 2 largest players Kawai and Yamaha from Asia.
Kawai pianos can be found all over the world, from Norway, Oxford, to Houston TX. Originally an apprentice of Torakusu Yamaha, Koichi Kawai founded Kawai in 1927. Third generation Kawai family member, Hirotaka Kawai, became president in 1989. He expanded production to other countries.
